Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition is an innovative expression born from a collaboration with our local craft beer partners. In 2013, Jameson ventured into a new territory by exchanging stout barrels with a local brewery. Buoyed by that success, we chose to explore further and teamed up with Eight Degrees Brewing to season their zesty Irish Pale Ale (IPA) in our barrels. Once infused with crisp, hoppy notes, these barrels were returned and filled with our whiskey.
This maturation process in IPA-seasoned barrels brings a refreshing twist to our whiskey, adding subtle flavours of hops, fresh citrus, and floral notes to Jameson's signature smoothness. This edition is a blend of pot still and grain whiskeys, initially matured in American bourbon barrels and Spanish sherry butts, then finished in the IPA-seasoned barrels.
